The East Bay Regional Park has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the District Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its annual comprehensive financial report for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

The unique nature of the East Bay Regional Park District began in 1934 when, in the midst of the Depression, voters imposed a tax of 5¢ for every $100 of property owned to fund the creation of a Public Resources Code 5500 Special Park District in the East Bay.
Park District to receive $1,380,000 in federal funding secured by U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell for wildfire mitigation and safe, resilient forest work.
Every day is Earth Day in the Regional Parks! It’s a day that is close to the Park District’s heart and mission to preserve and protect our natural resources. Earth Day also provides visitors with an opportunity to give back to the parks they love.
The Point Pinole to Wilson Point section of the San Francisco Bay Trail (Project) will construct a 0.9 mile, paved multi-use trail that will parallel the shoreline closing a critical gap between the cities of Richmond and Hercules.
Join us in celebrating Black Birders Week from Sunday, May 28 to Saturday, June 3 with a week-long series of activities aimed at uplifting Black birders and topics of cultural inclusivity in the outdoors. Park District Naturalist staff together with the Park District Black Employee Collective share the joys of birding as a lifelong learning journey and invite everyone to get outside, spend time with community, and learn about the birds of the East Bay in our Regional parks.

Women have played an important role in the Park District’s founding and its history of protecting open space and connecting people with nature in the East Bay. In recognition of Women’s History Month, we highlight contributions of the many women which have led to the successes of the Park District.
Spring in eastern Contra Costa is a remarkable time of transformation and renewal. We eagerly anticipate the signs of this season each year. One of the most unmistakable indicators of spring’s arrival are the vibrant wildflower blooms across parks like Black Diamond Mines.
