The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for inland East Bay areas and an Excessive Heat Watch for coastal and bayside areas on Thursday, September 1, 2022, through the Labor Day Weekend. Per the order of the Park District’s Fire Chief, the District will be closing some parks/areas beginning Sunday, September 4 thru Monday, September 5, 2022.
Deputy General Manager Ana Alvarez to Serve on California’s 30x30 Partnership Coordinating Committee
Park District Deputy General Manager Dr. Ana M. Alvarez has been appointed to serve on the California Anchor30x30 Partnership Coordinating Committee by California Natural Resources Agency Secretary Wade Crowfoot. The 30x30 initiative aims to conserve thirty percent of the state’s lands and coastal waters by 2030 (30x30).
The Tilden Environmental Education Center provides exhibits and public programs that highlight the diverse resources of the Tilden Nature Area. The District intends to replace the existing EEC with a new facility of a similar size.
