In 2010, the East Bay Regional Park District’s Board of Directors approved the Wildfire Hazard Reduction and Resource Management Plan (“Plan”) and the accompanying CEQA document which covers hill and shoreline parklands from Richmond to Castro Valley within the Measure CC funded area.
In 2019, the Park District purchased a building next to their headquarters at 2955 Peralta Oaks Court to house its Public Safety Division and administrative staff. The building will provide space for police, fire, and administrative staff. The Park District is developing internal renovation plans for the building with work expected to begin in 2024.
May is National Wildfire Awareness Month, a time when the Park District and other public agencies come together to stress the importance of preparing for the upcoming wildfire season.
Some activities in the Park District require a permit.
If you are a Commercial dog walker OR if you walk more than three dogs at a time in the Regional Parks, you need to have a Dog Permit. Commercial dog walkers are required to obtain a permit, regardless of how many dogs they walk at one time (limit of six dogs).

Throughout our parks we have many picnic areas and tables that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. First-come, first-served picnic sites usually have one or two tables with a BBQ and generally do not have a site name.
