The East Bay Regional Park District began acquiring land for Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve in the early 1970s.
The Finance Department provides sound fiscal management and stewardship of the District’s financial assets, ensuring stability and solvency for the achievement of District goals, while demonstrating accountability, transparency, and trustworthiness in the management of the District’s financial resources.
At Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach, the water is warm and shallow. At the west end of the beach is a bathhouse with changing rooms. Swimming is permitted during park hours year round.
Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach is operated by the Park District under a cooperative agreement with the State of California and City of Alameda.
Coyote Hills Regional Park was dedicated in 1967.

Tilden's Herschell-Spillman Merry-Go-Round is a splendid antique menagerie carousel with hand-carved and beautifully painted wooden carousel animals to ride, and calliope-style music to make any child's heart sing. The facility offers a wheelchair-accessible snack stand, drinking water, restroom, and parking.
