Beginning Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 25), the Park District is launching a pilot project to streamline entry at Del Valle Regional Park on weekends and holidays (including Friday, July 5). In late spring and summer, entering Del Valle can be very challenging on weekends and holidays as cars line up to pay for parking at the entry kiosk. Long wait times have been reported.

East Bay residents have a volcano in their backyard at Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve.
The Briones Pilot Project is a two-year pilot project intended to test a variety of trail management strategies. The pilot project is limited to a portion of Briones Regional Park in the northeast corner of the park.
