On Friday, December 17, 2021, the Park District is hosting California Natural Resources Agency Secretary Wade Crowfoot and State Senator Nancy Skinner for a site tour of two East Bay Regional Parks hit by the recent phenomenon of Sudden Tree Die-Off. Dead standing trees burn hotter, faster and can cast embers far ahead of the original fire, igniting potentially dangerous new fires.
Dogs may be taken off leash at Pt. Isabel Regional Shoreline.

The District Police Department's Volunteer Coordinator supervises the District's Volunteer Trail Safety Patrol, whose many members enjoy riding and hiking District trails and interacting with the public. The Volunteer Trail Safety Patrol comprises five patrol groups: the Volunteer Mounted Patrol, the Volunteer Bicycle Patrol, the Volunteer Hiking Patrol, the Companion Dog Patrol, and the Volunteer Marine Safety Unit.
