The Regional Parks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1969 to support the East Bay Regional Park District through fundraising to provide universal access, environmental stewardship, educational and recreational programs and the acquisition of parklands.

Bay Point Regional Shoreline reopened on Friday, November 20, 2020 after being closed for 14 months for construction of habitat restoration and major public access improvements.
The new shoreline park, named Judge John Sutter Regional Shoreline after East Bay civic and environmental leader and former Park District Board member John Sutter, is located at the eastern touchdown of the Bay Bridge and provides spectacular views of the entire bay and new eastern Bay Bridge span.
