Virtual Engagement Meeting Updates Community on Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Improvements

November 25, 2020

On December 8, 2020, Park District planners and staff hosted a virtual community engagement meeting to present up-to-date information on two major projects taking place at Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline. Special guest speakers included EBRPD Board President Ellen Corbett and Oakland District 5 Councilmember Noel Gallo.

The Tidewater Public Access Improvements project represents a rare opportunity to add eight acres of new parkland to MLKing Jr. Regional Shoreline near the Tidewater Boating Center in Oakland.

The Doolittle Bay Trail and Shoreline Improvements project will close an approximately half-mile gap in the San Francisco Bay Trail along Doolittle Drive and provide a safe, non-motorized transportation route near MLKing Jr. Regional Shoreline. This project will also include improvements to the boat launch and shoreline area.
