Image November 1, 2018Man Found Guilty of Animal Cruelty for Dog Attack in Contra Loma Regional Park By Office of the District Attorney Contra Costa County On October 31, a Contra Costa County jury found defendant Vinicio Santos of Antioch guilty of three misdemeanors, including animal cruelty. On December 1, 2017, Santos’ dog attacked the three calves owned by grazer Paul Daysh. The brutal attack left the three calves permanently injured. In 2017 two peregrine falcons were observed nesting on the Campanile high in the air above the UC Berkeley campus.
