Free Concerts at the Cove is Back!

Concert Series Brings Community Together for Nature, Music, and Family Fun

Concerts at the Cove is back again for the 19th annual summer celebration of fun, food, and great music. Each year hundreds of Bay Area residents flock to Crab Cove in Alameda to enjoy local bands with a stunning view of the San Francisco Bay. Concerts at the Cove is a free event, 4:30-8:00 p.m. the second Friday in June, July, and August. The Concerts at the Cove series is sponsored by the Alameda Rotary Club and East Bay Regional Park District with the proceeds from beverage sales benefiting the Alameda Rotary scholarship fund.

The concerts begin at 5:30 p.m., with each evening dedicated to a different musical genre. On June 8th, Long Train Runnin’ will perform the ultimate tribute to the Doobie Brothers. On July 13th, Wall of Blues will bring a Blues Brothers vibe to the concert series. And, on August 10th, the series finale will feature East Bay Mudd, a local dance band with classic soul and R&B music.

The event also includes family activities at the Crab Cove Visitor Center starting at 4:30 p.m. where children and parents can participate in nature programs and crafts. There is also face painting and balloon animals. The Visitor Center is open until 8 p.m.

In addition to great music and family activities, guests can enjoy tacos, hot dogs, kettle corn, beverages and other tasty treats for sale. Attendees can enjoy a glass of wine from R & B Cellars, Rosenblum Cellars, and Rock Wall Wine Company. Faction Brewing and Drakes Brewing Company will have brews on site for the July 13th concert.

Guests can walk or bike to the park, and bring a blanket or lawn chair to relax in Crab Cove’s meadow area. Parking is available on Webster Street or the Crown Beach lot on Otis ($5).

The East Bay Regional Park District is a system of beautiful public parks and trails in Alameda and Contra Costa counties east of San Francisco Bay, established in 1934. The system comprises 121,000 acres in 73 parks including over 1,250 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and nature learning.
