The East Bay Regional Park District and Save the Redwoods League unveiled the Old Growth Redwood Heritage Viewing Deck and Interpretive Exhibit at Roberts Regional Recreation Area this past Saturday, celebrating its dedication with redwood lovers from around the Bay Area.

Oakland, CA – On October 27, 2018, Aileen Theile was appointed the new Fire Chief of the East Bay Regional Park District. Theile had been serving as Acting Fire Chief since March 22, 2018.
On October 31, a Contra Costa County jury found defendant Vinicio Santos of Antioch guilty of three misdemeanors, including animal cruelty. On December 1, 2017, Santos’ dog attacked the three calves owned by grazer Paul Daysh. The brutal attack left the three calves permanently injured.
