Park District Canceling Community Events & District Programs with 50 People or More in Attendance
All Regional Parks, Trails, and Open Spaces Remain Open to the Public
(Oakland, CA) – The health and safety of our visitors and employees is the Park District’s top priority. As a park agency representing two counties – Alameda and Contra Costa counties – the East Bay Regional Park District is proactively monitoring all information regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) from local, state, and federal health agencies and is following all guidance and recommendations.
Based on Alameda County Public Health Department and Contra Costa County Health Services recommendations, and out of a preponderance of caution, the Park District is canceling all events, programs and special use permits with over 50 people in attendance districtwide beginning Wednesday, March 11, 2020, through Sunday, March 29, 2020.
The Park District thanks the public for their cooperation and understanding during this rapidly evolving situation. All Regional Parks, trails, and open spaces remain open to the public. Cancellation of Public Events, Programs, and Special Use Permits with 50 People or More in Attendance:
The Park District is canceling all public community events in parks, District programs, and special use permits in Regional Parks with 50 People or More through Sunday, March 29, 2020. Full refunds will be provided.
Full Refunds for Voluntary Cancellations:
In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, event cancellations, and to support customer decisions regarding the cancellation of reservation for Park District facilities, the District is suspending its cancellation and refund policy. The District will provide free refunds for events schedule through Thursday, April 30, 2020. To cancel or reschedule reservations, call 888-327-2757, option 2 Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or email reservations@ebparks.org.
The East Bay Regional Park District is the largest regional park system in the nation, comprising 73 parks, 55 miles of shoreline, and over 1,300 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and environmental education.
