Lake Temescal Closed to Water Access, Open for Other Activities

The Park District has been notified of a City of Oakland sewer spill near Lake Temescal potentially affecting water quality. Immediately, the lake is closed to all fishing and water contact. Signage has been placed informing visitors of the temporary restrictions. Non water-related activities are permitted. The Park District is currently testing for water quality and will reopen once tests show it is safe. Safety is our top priority. Questions and comments about the City of Oakland sewer spills should be directed to the City of Oakland.
