2024 Public Safety Awards
Congratulations to our 2024 Public Safety Awards Recipients Detective Christoper Rudy and Dispatcher Katie Lindsey. Officer of the Year Detective Rudy has been an officer since 2016 and is currently assigned to the Investigations Unit. Dispatcher of the Year Dispatcher Lindsey has been with the Park District since the early 2000s.
Officer of The Year
Detective Christoper Rudy
Detective Rudy has been an officer since 2016 and is currently assigned to the Investigations Unit. He has been a range instructor for over five years and during that time has overseen our less lethal launcher program. He is one of our most senior officers and worked as a Field Training Officer prior to joining the Investigations Unit and is always willing to mentor other officers. He is the cold case specialist in the Investigations Unit and recently solved a rape/homicide from 1990 working directly with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office and the FBI.
Dispatcher of The Year
Dispatcher Katie Lindsey
Dispatcher Lindsey has been with the Park District since the early 2000s. She was a lifeguard and head lifeguard and several District swim facilities prior to becoming a Dispatcher in 2013. While handling normal dispatching duties, Dispatcher Lindsey is also a Communications Training Officer, training new employees to become successful solo dispatchers.
