A California Fishing License is required for anglers, (16+ years of age), to fish at all eligible inland waters (lakes, ponds and reservoirs) of the East Bay Regional Park District.
A District Fishing Permit - daily or annual - is required for anglers 16+ years of age at the following lakes/reservoirs: Del Valle, Contra Loma, Lake Chabot, (Alameda Co.); Shadow Cliffs, Temescal, Don Castro, and at Horseshoe and Rainbow lakes in Quarry Lakes.
- A District Fishing Permit is not required to fish at the following lakes/ reservoirs: Cull Canyon; Jordan Pond in Garin; Lake Anza in Tilden; Shinn Pond on Alameda Creek Trail; or at several District unnamed ponds.
The District Fishing Permit fees are used to plant rainbow trout and channel catfish, (1 - 12+ pounds ea.) on a weekly basis. The District and D.F.& G. plant over 200,000 pounds of catchable trout and catfish annually. Visit the Angler's Edge page for fish plant information.

Regional Parks Foundation Membership categories Angler ($300) and Special Access Angler ($180), include all the benefits of Basic Membership plus boat launch (excludes Invasive Mussel Inspection fees) and an annual District Fishing Permit for one named individual. (A California State Fishing License is also required for individuals 16+ years of age.)
