Consistent with the Park District’s Good Neighbor Guidelines:
Contractors or neighbors who want access to cross District land to get to private property for a short period of time (one day to one week) may apply for an Access Permit through the Maintenance Division. [Good Neighbor Guidelines, EBRPD Board Resolution 1993-4-82]
Good Neighbor Access (GNA) Permit:
- Access to their private property through Park District property
- Up to 7 days
- No work on Park District property is authorized under this permit
- No staging, parking vehicles or equipment on Park District property
- Requires insurance documents
- If your permit exceed one week, please visit Temporary Park Access (TPA) Permit.
Review Period
The review period is two weeks. The review period begins when a complete application is submitted. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Processing Time
Turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks for a Good Neighbor Access Permit dependent upon availability, impact to the park, and volume of requests.
Minimum Requirements for GNA Permits
- Fully completed application form, with a full description of the project including all vehicles and equipment required to access the site. (i.e.; 1 pick-up truck, 2 chippers).
- Required insurance documents; requirements may vary based on the description of project/activity.
- Maps and/or KMZ files showing the location of the project and the access route you are requesting to use. Do not send latitude and longitude coordinates. View Example Map

Pay the $50 application fee.
Fees & Fee Payment
- All GNA Permits will require a $50 application fee due at the time of submission.
- GNA Permits may be subject to review, inspection, coordination and/or temporary park use fees.
- Electronic payment will be required for all GNA Permit fees and deposits.
