Regional Parks Fishing Rules

1. Visitors may fish at 11 lakes and 25 miles of District-operated Bay and Delta shoreline.
2. All State Fish and Game regulations apply.
3. Trout fishing hours are from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset throughout the year. No fishing is allowed when a park is closed.
4. A State fishing license is required for persons aged 16 or older for fishing at these parks: Garin (Jordan Pond), Tilden (Lake Anza), Antioch Shoreline, Crown Beach, Miller/Knox, Point Isabel, Point Pinole (no license needed on pier), Martinez Shoreline, Alameda Creek Trail (Shinn Pond), and Martin Luther King Regional Shoreline.
5. A valid State fishing license and a daily District Fishing Permit are required for persons aged 16 and older to fish at these parks: Lake Chabot, Contra Loma, Del Valle, Shadow Cliffs, Don Castro, Temescal, and Quarry Lakes.
6. District Fishing Permits are available at Contra Loma, Lake Chabot Marina, Del Valle, Shadow Cliffs, Don Castro, Temescal, Quarry Lakes, Tilden's Environmental Education Center, and the Park District administrative offices at 2950 Peralta Oaks Court in Oakland.
7. Through the Regional Parks Foundation's Membership Program, an annual District Fishing Permit is included with Angler category memberships.

Fishing Ethics

1. Respect other anglers' rights.
2. Respect the rights of others who use the resource.
3. Keep only the fish you want.
4. Never waste fish.
5. Release unwanted fish carefully and unharmed.
6. Never litter or pollute the waters.
7. Know and follow angling and boating regulations.
8. Continually seek new knowledge and skill.
9. Share knowledge with others.
