Del Valle Boat Launch Water Quality Conditions

The Del Valle Family Campground has 150 campsites including 21 RV sites with full hookups, 124 drive-up tent campsites, 5 cabins, and equestrian camping. All campsites within the family campground have a maximum capacity of 8 and can accommodate a maximum of 2 vehicles. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. The sites are served by centrally located toilet and shower facilities.

Groups of 17 or more are encouraged to use group campsites, which vary in max capacity, from 50-150. Del Valle has 2 developed group camp sites, and 5 primitive group campsites. Primitive group campsites have no access to showers or flush toilets. Group campsites have picnic table(s), fire ring with grill, water (except Cedar Camp and Venados), and chemical/vault toilets. RV’s, trailers, motorhomes, etc. are not permitted at the group campsites.

Campground gates are locked after 10pm. Plan arrival times and excursions accordingly. Generators and smoking are prohibited. Dogs are allowed, leashed, and attended to at all times.

Camping in the park requires a reservation. Family campground sites must be reserved 2 or more business days in advance. Group campsites must be reserved 3 or more business days in advance.

Group Campsites

Wild Turkey (Developed/ 17-50 person capacity)
•    Site closed seasonally November 1 – March 31

The site is located within the family campground and includes picnic tables, BBQ, fire ring, and drinking fountain/water spigot. Access to flush toilets and showers, nearby within the family campground. Beer and wine are permitted, no hard alcohol. 15 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited. 

Punta Vaca (Developed/ 17 - 50 person capacity)

  • Site closed seasonally November 1 – March 31

This site is located within the family campground and includes picnic tables, BBQ, fire ring, a drinking fountain with spigot and chemical toilets. Flush toilets and showers are located nearby in the family campground. Beer and wine is permitted, no hard alcohol. 15 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Cedar Camp (Primitive/ 17 - 50 person capacity)

  • Site closed seasonally November 1 – March 31

Cedar Camp is a primitive site with partial shade and includes picnic tables, BBQ, a fire circle with benches, and two chemical toilets. There is a 1/4 mile hike in to the site and you must hike in all of your gear. Water is not available at the site, you must bring in your drinking water. No access to showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 10 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Ardilla (Primitive/ 17 - 50 person capacity)
This is a primitive campsite with picnic tables, BBQ, a fire circle with benches, and a water spigot. There is no access to showers and flush toilets are located near the site. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 10 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Eagles View (Primitive/ 17- 50 person capacity)
This site has a view of the lake and includes picnic tables, BBQs, fire ring, and a drinking fountain. Flush toilets are available uphill from the site an there is no access to showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 10 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Equestrian Campsites

Little Chaparral (1 - 4 person capacity/per site)
Little Chaparral has 4 campsites which can accommodate up to 4 people maximum at each. A household can reserve up to 4 sites. Horse paddock is 10’ X 10’ and each site accommodates 1 horse maximum. 1 truck and 1 trailer can park at each site and there is no additional vehicles permitted. There is no fire circle at the site. Water, flush toilets, and showers are available in the family campground. Water at site is for horses only, not for human consumption. Bring your own feed.

Caballo Loco (Primitive Group/ 4 – 50 person capacity)

  • Site closed seasonally November 1 – March 31

Caballo Loco is an equestrian group site that can accommodate up to 15 horses; 5 horses is the minimum to reserve. This site includes picnic tables, BBQs, a three pole tethering system (requires 100' rope), fifteen horse paddocks (one horse max per paddock), a manure bin, a dumpster and shovel, a fire circle with benches, a small covered shelter, and a chemical toilet. Non-potable water is available at site for horses but it is not for human consumption. You must bring in your own drinking water; no access to showers or flush toilets. You must bring your own feed. Vehicles and tents must stay inside the fenced area. The dumpster needs to remain clear and accessible. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. No hard alcohol. 10 parking passes issued with reservation, which includes trailers.
