Before you stands the Patterson House, once the home of George and Clara Patterson. Within this house, Clara strove to create an atmosphere of culture, education, and restfulness - a contrast to the agriculture and commerce that dominated the farm.
In the Victorian tradition, Clara displayed her family’s prosperity and morality in their home. Clara’s world travels, and her welcoming of immigrant farm workers’ families, were represented in her culturally diverse indoor décor.
