Anthony Chabot Campground sits approximately 1 ½ miles above Lake Chabot in Castro Valley, California. The campground has 75 campsites which include: 12 RV sites with full-hookups (30 amp), 1 developed group site, 53 drive-up tent sites, and 10 hike-in tent sites. Hike-In Tent sites (#13-22) are NOT backpack sites; they are inside the campground but without vehicle access nor adjacent parking. Parking pads average 30 feet; the largest is 39 feet. The campground also has hot showers, flush toilets, seasonal campfire programs, an amphitheater, and a dump station (additional use fees may apply).

In addition to the main campground, there are also 6 primitive group campsites. A minimum of 10 people are required to reserve a group campsite and maximum capacity varies from 35 to 300. Primitive group campsites are not inside the campground and are located behind the group camp gate. Primitive group campsites have no access to showers or flush toilets. Group campsites have picnic table(s), fire ring with grill, water, and chemical/vault toilets. RV’s, trailers, motorhomes, etc. are not permitted at the group campsites.

Campground gates are locked between the hours of 10pm to 8am. Plan arrival times and excursions accordingly. Generators and smoking are prohibited. No camp store. Dogs are allowed, leashed, and attended to at all times.

Reservations:
Camping in the park requires a reservation. Family campground sites must be reserved 2 or more business days in advance. Group campsites must be reserved 3 or more business days in advance.

Group Campsites

Puma Point (Developed/ 17-50 person capacity)
The site is located within the family campground and includes picnic table, BBQ, fire ring, drinking fountain and chemical toilets. Access to flush toilets and showers within the family campground. Beer and wine are permitted, no hard alcohol. 10 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

El Venado (Primitive/ 10 - 35 person capacity)
This site is located within the group camp gate and includes picnic tables, BBQ, fire ring, and chemical toilets. There is no access to flush toilets and showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 7 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Lookout Ridge (Primitive/ 17 - 50 person capacity)
This site is located within the group camp gate and includes picnic tables, BBQ, fire ring, drinking fountain, and chemical toilets. There is no access to flush toilets and showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 10 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Two Rocks (Primitive/ 17 - 50 person capacity)
This site is located within the group camp gate and includes picnic tables, BBQ, fire ring, drinking fountain, and chemical toilets. There is no access to flush toilets and showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 10 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Lost Ridge (Primitive/ 35- 100 person capacity)
This site is located within the group camp gate and includes picnic tables, BBQ, fire ring, drinking fountain, and chemical toilets. There is no access to flush toilets and showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 20 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited

Hawk Ridge (Primitive/ 50 - 150 person capacity)
This site is located within the group camp gate and includes a shelter with fire circle picnic tables, BBQ, drinking fountain, and chemical toilets. There is no access to flush toilets and showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 25 parking passes issued with reservation. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited.

Bort Meadow (Primitive/ 100 – 300 person capacity)
This site is located within the group camp gate and includes picnic tables, BBQs, fire circles, drinking fountains, and vault toilets. There is no access to flush toilets and showers. Beer and wine is permitted with additional $25 Beer and Wine Permit. 75 parking passes issued with reservation. It is a 15 minute walk to the site from parking. Loading and unloading is permitted at the site, limited to 2 vehicles for a maximum of 15 minutes. Buses, RVs, trailers, food trucks, or caterers are prohibited. Horses permitted at site, campers should discuss parking with Park Supervisor in advance to ensure trucks and horse trailers can fit.
