Preventing the spread of invasive plants is critical to protecting the biodiversity of the Park District. We ask all park visitors to observe the following practices while in parkland areas:
- Start clean, stay clean – clean your shoes before entering and leaving parks to reduce the spread of any invasive plant seeds or soil pathogens
- Learn to identify invasive plants
- Map invasive plants with Calflora’s free app, Calflora Observer Pro
• You can also learn more about plants growing in our region utilizing Calflora’s What Grows Here website. - Only plant or remove plants while participating in designated park projects with Park District staff. Learn more about our volunteer programs.
