Youth Partners

Ambrose Teen Center is part of the Ambrose Recreation and Park District, they offer opportunities for youth to recreate, socialize and participate in leadership opportunities with their peers. The Teen Center also offers opportunity to mentor, teach and exposes youth to meaningful activities and events.

BAWT (Bay Area Wilderness Training) conducts trainings, provides equipment and collaborates on many programs with organizations such as EBRPD that focus on outdoor education, cultural diversity, equity and inclusion in the outdoors.

Brown Girl Surf works to build a more diverse, environmentally reverent, and joyful women’s surf culture by increasing access to surfing, cultivating community, amplifying the voices of women of color surfers, and taking care of the earth.

ChangeScale is a San Francisco and Monterey Bay Area collaborative of Environmental Education service providers that combine their collective resources to enact meaningful, measurable change in the Environmental Education field.

GirlVentures’ mission is to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths. Through outdoor adventure programs that include backpacking, hiking, kayaking and rock climbing, we bring diverse groups of girls together in a social justice and leadership development curriculum.

Girls Inc. of Alameda County’s model creates opportunities for success. We equip girls to defy limitations and stereotypes, attend college, break the cycle of poverty, and move into a thriving future.

Hip Hop For Change, Inc. is an Oakland-based non-profit that uses grassroots activism to educate people about socio-economic injustices and advocate solutions through Hip Hop culture.

Oakland Parks, Recreation and Youth Development and its partners, with a focus on Oakland youth, provide best in class, relevant and equitable programs and services, while meeting the specific needs of people and communities both at the neighborhood level and regionally throughout the City of Oakland. They achieve this mission through intentional engagement and by removing the barriers that prohibit equitable opportunities for all.

RYSE Center creates safe spaces grounded in social justice for young people to love, learn, educate, heal, and transform lives and communities.

YES Nature to Neighborhoods (formerly Youth Enrichment Strategies) provides youth, adults and families living in Richmond and surrounding West Contra Costa County access to experiences in the natural environment – opportunities that can ignite the imagination, build self-confidence and enhance leadership skills.

Justice Outside advances racial justice and equity in the outdoor and environmental movement by offering professional and workforce development programs as well as comprehensive workshops to empower the voices and leadership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
