During the Oakland fire I was a member our the Industrial fire dept. for the District. That weekend I was in Sacramento with family when the fire broke out. I was watching the fire on the television at the hotel and did not return to my house until Sunday afternoon. When I called in I was asked to go to Tilden to join a strike team going out to put out hot spots into the evening and night. The major activity and fire was over when I went out that evening. My group spent the night in one of the neighborhoods along Skyline Blvd. We were released to return back to Tilden late the following morning. I did not spend any more time on the fire after that.
