Brazilian Room Open House

Tilden Brazilian Room Exterior Facility Garden

About the Facility

The Brazilian Room derives its name from its rich hardwood paneling (Jacaranda, Imbuya, Brazilian Chestnut and Mahogany) that was once part of the Brazilian Pavilion at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exhibition on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay that showcased the commerce and culture of the country of Brazil. When the exposition ended, the Brazil Building was presented to the newly-formed East Bay Regional Park District as a gift of friendship from the Brazilian government.

The Brazilian Room has been voted Best Place for a Wedding in the East Bay by East Bay Times' readers three years in a row, and Best Wedding Venue two years in a row by East Bay Express readers.

Open Houses and Scheduling Tours

  • To view the Brazilian Room, please join us at open houses, the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Please see the full schedule of Brazilian Room Open Houses and Seasonal Celebrations linked below.
  • To schedule a tour of the Beach House or Fern Cottage, please contact the Rental Facilities office at (510) 544-3164. 
  • We are not currently offering tours for the Shoreline Center due to closure, please check back.
